Work/Life Balance Policy
Full-Time associates will be given four (4) unpaid Work-Life Balance Occurrences to utilize over the course of the year. These can be used to supplement from receiving a point regarding the Attendance Policy. Work-Life Balance days are available for use after the new hire 60-day probationary period has been completed.

For example:

John has a flat tire while on his way to work, which will cause him to be late to work. John immediately notifies his manager that he will be late and that he will use a Work-Life Balance Occurrence so that he does not receive .5 point for being late to work. John now has three (3) remaining Work-Life Balance Occurrences that he can utilize throughout the year.

Becky wakes up to a sick child and must bring him to the doctor which will require her to be out most of the day. Becky is scheduled to work but can utilize a Work-Life Balance Occurrence to supplement from receiving one (1) point for an unscheduled absence. Becky calls her manager to inform them of the situation and that she will utilize a Work-Life Balance Occurrence.

  • All new hires will receive a prorated amount of Work-Life Balance Occurrences as follows:
    • Start Date:
      • January-June 3 days
      • July-September 2 days
      • October-December 1 day

*Please note that Work-Life Balance Occurrence points must be utilized in (1) whole point increments
