Retail Team Dress Code

Retail store employees are always expected to maintain a high standard of personal cleanliness and present a neat professional appearance. The customer experience represents the most important aspect of our business.  When you are properly dressed and presented you create the proper image of the DFWh brand, our customers, and your co-workers.

Appropriate attire has a broad meaning and certainly is different for many people.

These guidelines are intended to provide an overview however are not all inclusive. The leadership team maintains the right to enforce, at their discretion, if a clothing item is inappropriate for working hours.

Clothing

**All clothing must be clean; void of rips, holes or stains. Clothing and accessories should not distract from the product or sales process.

  • Jeans or slacks may be worn however must abide by the above guidelines. Distressed jeans are permitted; however, any rips must be moderate and strategically placed. Rips that expose undergarments or are inappropriately placed are not permitted.
  • All clothing should be void of large graphics or words (brand logos are permitted). Sports team apparel is acceptable in moderation the day of the team event.
  • Hoodies and sweatshirts are permitted if they are similar to those we are selling in the store or have sold in the past, along with being paired with a nice pair of jeans and footwear.
  • Tank tops are permitted; however, they must be styled appropriately with no undergarments showing.
  • Women’s dresses, skirts, rompers and shorts must be at least fingertip length including any slits in the garments that have been made by the manufacturer.
  • Men’s shorts may be worn but the length must be at or below the knee.
  • All pants and shorts must be secured at the waist. No undergarments should be visible.
  • Leggings may be worn however must be worn with a long top that is at least a fingertip length in the back.
  • Shirts should not reveal midriff (i.e. no crop tops or cut out tops. The company takes a conservative approach to the amount of cleavage revealed as well)

Footwear

  • Comfortable shoes are highly recommended, all shoes must be clean and in good condition.
  • Athletic tennis shoes, boots, and sandals are permitted; however, no rubber or plastic flip flops are allowed.

Accessories

  • Accessories and jewelry should be flattering to the employees’ overall look and not cause distraction from the product or sales process.
  • “Fashion hats” are permitted. This does not include baseball hats, team hats, or beanies.

Tattoos/Piercings/Hair & Make Up

  • Facial piercings/jewelry should be limited, and discreet. Anything outside of small stud or clear retainer must be removed during your shift time.
  • Visible tattoos must not contain any offensive language or designs.
  • Hair must be neat and clean. Over the top makeup, hair color, or styles are not permitted.
  • Facial hair must be neat and trimmed.

Enforcement

The Management team reserves the right to enforce any additional dress code violations they deem inappropriate and in violation of company policy. Any employee who continues to disregard the company dress code guidelines may be subject to disciplinary action up to termination.
