Employee Discount Policy

This is a REVISED employee discount shopping policy.  The policy will take effect on April 1, 2020.

The Employee Discount will be 20% off for all employees.  This 20% off will be applied to the current selling price of an item in the stores.  If the item is marked down, the discount will be applied on the then current markdown retail.

There are very specific rules below to follow on receiving your shopping discount.  Abuse or violations of these rules could result in suspension of further shopping privileges, or in some cases, termination of employment.

Shopping policy:

  • An employee is eligible to use their employee discount after 7 days of employment.
  • A Store Manager or District Manager can print out Employee Discount Cards for any DFWh Employee.
  • Each employee will receive an Employee Discount Card that MUST be presented, along with a VALID State ID or Drivers License, at each purchase.
  • Without the use of the card to scan in the registers at the stores, no discounts are permitted.
  • There are no “holds” of any items. If the purchase is taken off of the selling floor, it must be paid for on the same day.
  • There is no shopping in the warehouse facility. All employee purchases must be made in the stores.
  • All items being purchased must be from the SALES FLOOR.  Shopping from the back room or warehouse spaces are not permitted.

  • Employee purchases are not permitted for resale regardless of the date, or location of the purchase. Additionally, family members utilizing the employee discount are also not permitted to resell.
  • Occasionally there may be open time frames where special shopping privileges may be made available. Additionally there may be additional incentives offered as part of employee awards or incentives.
  • All shopping and purchases must be done while off the clock – meaning before clocking in for their shift, after clocking out for their lunch or end of shift. Employees are not permitted to shop or make purchases while on their paid 15 minute breaks.  Employees found shopping while on the clock will be face disciplinary action, up to termination if there is a continuation of this behavior.
  • Upon separation or termination of employment, all discount shopping privileges will be terminated. Turning in of the shopping card will be a condition of receiving your last compensation.
  • Store Managers and Assistant Managers should make sure they are well versed and understand the application of the discount at the point of sale.  The Coupons and Discount SOP can be found Here.
